Bonnie Tai writes swoony YA fantasy fiction about monstrous girls who don’t belong.
Growing up, Bonnie noticed a lack of Asian heroines in young adult literature, so she quietly sat down and wrote her own stories (for fun), drawing inspiration from her third culture background, and the misunderstood villains she secretly rooted for.
Before diving into fiction, Bonnie’s career as a travel journalist and magazine editor took her all around the world. When the pandemic grounded her, she emerged on the publishing scene as a Marketing Campaigns Manager for a prominent Australian book publisher, before *finally* admitting to herself that she wanted to be an author.
She’s an ABIA award-winning marketer, a graduate of the Australian Writers Centre, and resides in Melbourne with her husband, Miles, and their two squish-faced cats Wesley and Beau.
